David Peter Poquette, of Clarksville, Tennessee formally De Pere, Wisconsin passed away on December 8, 2022, at Tristar Skyline Medical Center surrounded by Betsy Glover and his brother, Richard (Dick) Poquette. Born February 19, 1952, Peter was the fifth of 17 children born to Earl F., and Mary (Waznick) Poquette. David, better known as Peter by his friends and family, graduated from West De Pere High School and married Rosie Grady. Peter started his ambitious career at Miller Electric when he realized sitting in a building was not for him and he opted for the open road of driving 18 wheelers. Peter drove for many companies throughout his life, the last being Letica Corporation. Peter ended his career in 2018 in Clarksville, Tennessee where he lived with Betsy. Peter loved his family making a yearly trip to Wisconsin in November. This way he could be home for Thanksgiving and the annual Turkey Bowl on Poquette field in Hobart. Peter was our recruiter and hustled around attempting to get volunteers to play football.
Peter will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and especially by Betsy.
Hs is proceeded in death by his son Daniel Joseph Poquette, his Father and Mother, sister Peg (Margaret) Van Lanen, Sister Joanne Poquette, youngest brother Mike Poquette, baby brother Tommy Poquette; Nephews Evan Van Lanen, Aaron Meeuswen, and Rick Poquette.
Peter is survived by his love Betsy Glover who has been his heart and soul for the past 13 years. He is also survived by his siblings John Poquette, Earl P. (Pat) Poquette, Steve Poquette (Lori), Mary (Richard) Meeuwsen, Sue Wenzel (Tony), Kathy (Mike) Pickett, Dick (Colleen) Poquette, Sam (Rae) Poquette, Cheryl (Steve) Purshock, Jean Poquette, Trixie (Kevin) Sobieck and Judy Poquette and his Brother-in-law Dan Van Lanen. Peter also had many nieces and nephews along with great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call to Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth St. De Pere, Wisconsin 54115, on Saturday January 28th, 2023, from 1:00-4:00pm for a celebration of life in remembrance of David.
