David E. Van Grunsven, 87, De Pere, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening November 18, 2017. He was born December 22, 1929 to the late Frederick and Agnes (Jacobs) Van Grunsven Sr. Dave served in the U.S. Army from 1951 – 1953. On October 11, 1958 he was united in marriage to Kay Janssen. He retired from the U.S. Postal service after twenty five years of service. Dave loved coaching, was an avid sport enthusiast, enjoyed occasional trips to the casino, but it was the time spent with his family that meant the most to him.
He is survived by his wife Kay, children; Jim (Sue) Van Grunsven, Paul (Carmel) Van Grunsven, Kris (Mike) Carpenter, Mary Barthels, as well as seven grandchildren; Maggie, Brandon, Jordan, Alexandra, Brian, Kevin, and Jake. Dave is further survived by his sisters in law, Mildred and Grace, as well as Kay's family, Donna (Fran), Chum (Mary Jane), Paul and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings; Bill (Hazel), Della (Gordon), Ike, Bob, and Fred, and sister in law Joyce.
Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere after 4:00PM Tuesday November 21, 2017 with a parish prayer service at 7:30PM to bring the evening to a close. Visitation will continue after 9:00AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, De Pere until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM with Fr. Benny Jacob O.Praem. and Fr.
