Dennis G. "Dizzy" Dantoin, 75, Pelican Lake, passed away Tuesday morning, September 10, 2024. The son of Xavier and Adeline (Schmechel) Dantoin was born March 22, 1949. He graduated from West De Pere High School in 1967. On January 27, 1973 he landed the catch of his life when Mary Sue (Kocken) said yes to being his wife.
He spent his career working for the Brown County Highway Department where he took pride in helping keep the roads safe for all. After retirement, he continued to put his skills to use as a truck driver for others.
Dennis was a natural athlete. Over the years, he was active in many sports: football, volleyball, bowling, golf, and his favorite fast-pitch softball.
Dennis enjoyed entertaining others through story telling about his many hunting and fishing experiences. He could often be found playing cards or enjoying a campfire with those he loved.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Sue; their children, Wylie (Tammy) Dantoin, Luke Dantoin, & Tera (Joe) Mattke. Grandchildren, Tasha, Kieran & Branigan Dantoin, Hudson & Kambyl Mattke. His sibling; Nancy Clapper, brother-in-law Gary Murphy.
Mary Sue's family; Don (Marie) Kocken, Jim (Kathy) Kocken, Herb Kocken, Pat (Roger) Vande Hey, Bob (Sue) Kocken, Gerry Kocken, Lois Vieau, Judy Castelic, Bonnie (Steve) Linssen, Tom (Tina) Kocken, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Ed and Margaret Kocken, sister Sandra Murphy, Brothers and in-laws, Ken (Elaine) Dantoin, Don (Donna) Dantoin, Jerry (Jean) Dantoin, Betsy Kocken, Mike Castelic, Roy Vieau, & Barb Kocken.
Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2024. A prayer service will conclude the evening at 7:00 p.m.
