Obituary

Dolores Aland died June 12, 2018 after escalating health issues over the past nine months. She was born April 14, 1930 in Green Bay to Milton and Amanda Vanden Brand, the oldest of five girls. After graduating from Green Bay West High School, she married Francis Aland, living her entire married life in West De Pere. In the 1950s and 60s, she volunteered for the De Pere Public Health Department, helping to vaccinate all the De Pere school children. She and Fran also volunteered at St. Boniface and Our Lady of Lourdes visiting nursing home patients and many home bound parishioners. She loved her gardens, making soup, fishing with Fran, and she read three books a week. Her rosary and prayer shawl were always in her chair. Her Friends at Nicolet Highlands and throughout De Pere were very important to her. She is survived by daughter Sandra DeWaal (husband Arie), son John Aland (wife Lynn), Grandchildren Christopher DeWaal (wife Deana), Derek DeWaal (wife Christina), Bryan Aland (wife Heather), Nick Aland (wife Holly), Jessica Aland (Tyler Farvour), great-grandchildren Annika DeWaal and Korbyn Aland, Sisters Joan Warden, Green Bay, Donna Cegelski, Florida, Mary VandeLeest (husband Jerry), Florida, numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Fran, sister Janice August, and brothers-in-law Harold Warden and Robert Cegelski. A very special thank you to the tremendous help and support over the years from her sister Joan, niece Teri Walk, niece and nephew Dave and Shirley Servais, Chris and Deana DeWaal, and all the great haircuts from Jessica Aland.
