Obituary

Dolores Ann "Dee" (Burgoyne) Van De Hei, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the age of 78, surrounded by her family.

Dee was born on September 10, 1945, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Louis "Louie" and Rosella "Rose" (Kieffer) Burgoyne.

She grew up in De Pere with her older brother Dan and her younger sister Linda. Dee attended St. Boniface Grade School and West De Pere High School, graduating in 1963. During high school, Dee was a Packer cheerleader, a Packerette, during the Lombardi days.

After graduating high school, she married her one and only love Ken on June 6, 1964, at St. Boniface Catholic Church. That love story lasted nearly 60 years of marriage.

Dee was a stay at home mother for many years, but she also worked as a teller at the State Bank in De Pere and a clerk at Shopko, worked on her father's egg farm packaging eggs, managed the hot lunch program at St. Boniface School, and later ran a veal business with her husband. Together they raised three children, Tammy, Sandy and Tim. Over time, Dee welcomed two sons-in-law (Ben and Chris) and a daughter-in-law (Jen) into her family.

Her husband, children, their spouses and her grandchildren were the most important part of her life, and she was proud of them all. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Dee enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. She loved horses and rode since she was a child, winning many individual awards and awards with her grandchildren at NEWPHA and other horse shows. In 2018, she was the National POA Congress Pleasure Horse Driving Champion.

Dee is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ken Van De Hei; her three children, Tammy (Ben) Hock, Sandy (Chris) Berg, and Tim; her beloved six grandchildren, Connor, Josh, Emma, Ryan (Miranda), Megan and Rachel. She is further survived by her brother, Dan Burgoyne.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Rosella Burgoyne; sister Linda "Lynn" Schmidt; and daughter-in-law Jennifer (Brasch) Van De Hei.
