Don N. Christian, 87, De Pere, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday August 10, 2020. He was born September 20, 1932 to the late William and Velma (Dean) Christian. Don graduated from West De Pere High School, and then went on to serve his country during the Korean War from 1952 - 1954 in the Army. On September 1, 1954 he was united in marriage to Geraldine La Luzerne. He retired from Nicolet Paper Mill after 29 years of employment and being a member of the Quarter Century Club. Don loved West De Pere Football and was part of the Chain Gang for 45 years. He was also very active in veteran groups since he came home from service. Don was a Life member of VFW Post 2113, having served as Past Commander, 8th District Past Commander, Military Order of COOTIES- Pup Tent #23, Short Arm Seam Squirrel, American Legion #66 of Silver Cliff, and Life member of AMVET #11, Green Bay Commander for 2 years,
Don is survived by his children; Jeffrey (Rachel) Christian, Steve (Mary) Christian, Craig Christian, Scott Christian, and Kim (Robb) Devine. Grandchildren; Ashley, Jeremy, Casey, Ross, Karley, Emilee (fiancé Drew), Tristen, Sondra Christian, and Jake Devine. He is further survived by his sister Loretta Barber, brother-in-law Gerald (Kathy) La Luzerne, as well and numerous nieces, and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine in 2015, their daughter Martha Velma Christian, and their son Paul Christian. He was further preceded in death by his parents William and Velma, in-laws Hubert and Martha La Luzerne, his brother Billy "Ole" Christian and his brother-in law Don Barber.
Family and friends may call after 4:00PM on Thursday August 13, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family 1307 Lourdes Ave., De Pere with a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00PM to bring the evening to a close. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday morning after 9:00AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM with Fr. Peter Ambting O.Praem. and Deacon Mike Vander Bloomen officiating.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established.
