Obituary

Donald “Don” Thomas Lilly, 57, Oneida, passed away Monday morning, August 24, 2026. He was born on December 16, 1968, to the late Ken & Mary Jahnke. Don was later adopted by Tom & Carole Lilly, who provided him with a very loving upbringing.

Don graduated from Whitnall High School in 1987. After graduation, Don enlisted in the Navy as an Aviation Maintenance Technician. While in the Navy, Don was able to see the world. During honorable service he became a disabled veteran during the Desert Storm era. He then moved to Memphis and attended University of Memphis and received a bachelor’s degree in business, graduating Cum Laude in 2003. While attending college he co-owned Liberty Siding and Home Improvement Contracting. In 1995 began working for the Oneida Nation, eventually becoming the Casino Project Manager.

In 2010 Don married the love of his life Carla Doxtator.

In 2020 Don retired, but he didn’t sit still. He and Carla traveled to Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico and beyond.

Don was so proud to be an Oneida Veteran and participated in many veteran funerals. He was an avid Packer and Brewer fan. Don enjoyed seeing his friends at his favorite hangout “The Voo”. He also enjoyed going to car shows and buying and selling truck parts.

He is survived by his wife Carla, his two stepchildren Rhea and Adrianna. grandchildren; Nilli, Draven, and Jeffrey. His sister Mary Loffler, mother-in-law Babe, brother-in-law Bruce Doxtator, and sisters-in-law Denise McVey and Taina Bain.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Ken & Mary Jahnke, his adoptive parents Tom (Patty) Lilly, and Carole Lilly. Brother-in-law Brian Doxtator, father-in-law Don Doxtator, sister-in-law Tina Doxtator, and his nephew Bruce Doxtator Jr., further preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N Tenth Street, De Pere from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Saturday, August 29, 2026. Oneida Hymn Singers will sing at 10:30 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM, and Oneida Veterans service to follow. Burial will take place at Oneida Sacred Burial Grounds.
