IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald Harvey
Schultz
June 5, 1943 – March 3, 2024
Donald H. Schultz, 80, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born June 5, 1943, in Milwaukee to the late Harvey and Waive (Ihlenfeldt) Schultz. Don grew up in Kewaunee and graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1961. Don served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 – 1964 serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Essex CV-9 which was part of the Naval Blockade during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. For this, he was awarded the Navy Expeditionary Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for outstanding service. On June 10, 1967, he was united in marriage to Jean Pelisek at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Kewaunee, and they made their home in Green Bay. Don and Jean were blessed with two children, Steven Schultz, and Lori (Christopher) Frigo, as well as six grandchildren; Joshua and Julianne Schultz and Noah, Luca, Eli and Jude Frigo. Don retired from Konop Vending in 2006 after 38 years of service. After retirement he worked at Menards part-time for 6 years. A car guy, Don took pride in keeping his cars spotless and his vehicles always looked like they just came off the showroom floor. He enjoyed going to car shows, especially the annual Iola Car Show, and collecting die cast models of his favorite cars. Don also spent time watching NASCAR racing and Packer games. He enjoyed traveling, especially their three trips to Hawaii, along with trips to Jamaica, Mexico and Florida as well as many other wonderful places throughout the states. He also spent countless summer weekends camping with his family and friends in Waupaca. Don loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, usually trying to beat them in a few games of dominos while sharing stories of his youth. He also looked forward to getting together with family and friends for lunch or dinner, working out at Bellin Fitness Center and visiting casinos. In addition to his wife Jean, along with their children and grandchildren, Don is survived by his siblings; Jean Burmeister, Dorothy (Chris) Dolch, John (Lois) Schultz, in-laws Donald (Glenda) Pelisek, Betty (Lee) Sinkler, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Milton and Ann Pelisek, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Doug and Ellyn Dreyer, brother-in-law Edward Burmeister, and nephew Jeffrey Dreyer. To honor Don's wishes, a private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, Green Bay. Entombment followed at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere, assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials are asked to be given in Don's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A special and sincere thank you to Unity Hospice nurses and staff for their amazing care. You made this a peaceful transition for Don and his family
