Donald "Boogie" VerBruggen Sr., 79, Abrams, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 of natural causes. He was born November 15, 1929 in Pound to the late Leonard and Mary (Van Erman) VerBruggen. Don was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces. Don had worked at Frank O. Zeise Construction for a number of years until he retired. He also farmed, and loved doing so. Don enjoyed the outdoors wether it be cutting wood or filming deer. Don liked going for coffee in the morning with friends, and then afterwards he liked to go see if the construction on the highway was being done correctly. He also liked to work in his garage. Don was always rebuilding something.
He is survived by his children; Jeff VerBruggen, Steve (Pam) VerBruggen, Linda (Howie) Elliott, Ronnie VerBruggen, Greg (Kathy) VerBruggen, and Donald (Dawn) VerBruggen Jr. Don is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, his brother Norbert (Jean) VerBruggen, his sister Audrey Wichman, and many nieces and nephews, and his special friend Pat Peterson.
He was preceded in death by his two children; Barbara Jean, and Connie, as well as his grandson Trent, and 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive De Pere after 9am Friday, June 12, 2009 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am with Fr.
