Doreen "Sweet Pea" Sendzik, 93, passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Helen and Ron Hietpas on Thursday July 17, 2009, surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Patrick and Ella (Sullivan) Mc Cabe was born July 5, 1916 in the Town of Lawrence. Doreen's mother died when she was 16 and she raised her 7 brothers and sisters. She attended Nicolet High School. Doreen married George Vande Hei at St. Pauls Catholic Church, Wrightstown and he preceded her in death October 1, 1967. Doreen married John Sendzik on February 10, 1978 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Green Bay. He proceeded her in death on March 14, 2000.
Doreen was a past member of St. Boniface Christian Mothers and a parish member and choir member at St. Jude Catholic Church. She was a loving mother who enjoyed traveling, canning , and baking.
Doreen is survived by her children;Bonnie Vande Hei, Lois Vande Hei, Eleanor (Tom) De Groot, Joan (James) Calmes, Steven (Linda) Vande Hei, Melvin (Blanca) Vande Hei, Helen (Ron) Hietpas, Elaine (Fred) De Groot, Mary Haupt and special friend Rick Humphreys, twenty one grandchildren and thirty eight great-grandchildren, one brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Delores Mc Cabe, two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Elaine Van Domelen, Clarence Vande Hei, Dorothy Vander Loop, Elmer Kerkhoff. She was preceded in death by her two brothers James and Jack Mc Cabe, two sisters Betty Vandie and Rita Kerkhoff, two brothers-in-law, George Van Domelen and Henry Vander Loop.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the church with Fr. Don Everts, officiating. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
