Obituary

Doris Mae (Maes) Diny, 91, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2018. The daughter of Clarence and Helen (Smits) Maes was born September 27, 1926 in Green Bay. She married Lawrence "Larry" Diny on July 31, 1948 at St. Mary's of the Angels, Green Bay. She was a member at St. Clare Parish – Greenleaf Site, where she was active in the Altar Society. Doris worked at St. Vincent Hospital as a surgical technician. She also worked at Tec Systems and volunteered at Christian Outreach for more than 25 years. She is survived by her daughter, Barb (Fran) Gerrits, grandson Paul (Kirstin) Rasmussen; son Bill (Diane) Diny, grandson Kevin (Danielle) Diny, great-grandchildren Emily, Nicholas and Eric, grandson Stephen (Holly) Diny, great-grandchildren Autumn, Ella and Riley; daughter Kitty (Wally) Guns, granddaughter Haley (Matt) Beamen, great-grandchildren Carly and Lucas, grandson Eric (Michelle) Guns, great-grandchildren Riley and Logan, grandson Zachary (Angie) Guns, great-grandchildren Blake and Josephine; daughter Karen (Steve) Hibbard, grandson Christopher (Jody) Hibbard, great-grandchildren Elliott and Oliver, granddaughter Holly (Jesse) Koltz, great-grandson Mason, granddaughter Amanda (Jason) Hibbard, great-grandson Alexandre, grandson Noah (Laura) Hibbard; daughter Toni Jahnke, granddaughters Meleah (Brad) Schwittay and Marissa Jahnke (fiancé Drew Oudenhoven). She is further survived by her sister, Mary DePrey, sister Betty (Lee) Olsen, brother Tom (Bonnie) Maes, siblings-in-law Sharon Maes, Patricia Maes, Germaine Diny, Patricia Diny, Jerry (Carol) Diny, Toddy Daanen, and Mary (Jack) Dresdow. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Larry, parents Clarence and Helen, daughter Joanne, and great-grandson Mitchell. She is further preceded by her parents-in-law, Nick (Nettie) Diny, siblings Ruth (Kurt) Harstern, Phyllis (James) Doyen, John (Jean) Maes, Jim Maes, Jean (Jerry) Fameree, Richard (Anne) Maes, Larry (Sharon) Maes, Frank Maes and Gail Maes. Also preceded are her in-laws, John (Margaret) Diny, Leo Diny, Nick Diny Jr., Dan DePrey, Ken Paral, and Gerald Daanen. Family and friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N Tenth Street from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, February 9, 2018. A short prayer will close the evening. Visitation will continue at 9:00 AM on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. Clare Parish – St. Mary's Greenleaf Site, 2218 Day Street, Greenleaf. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Matthew's of Wrightstown and Compassus Hospice for their care and support. God decided mom's time had come, and God's will was meant to be. So he put his arms around her and whispered, "Come with me." In our hearts, you hold a special place no one else can fill.
