Obituary

Doris C. Manders, 87, De Pere, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 10th, 2018. She was born on May 30th, 1930 to the late Joseph and Pearl Linsmier, and she graduated from East De Pere High School. After graduation, Doris worked in the office at Murphy Insurance for 6 years. On February 13th, 1954, she married James Manders and worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Manders Plumbing. The most important thing to Doris was spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed everything from family time at the cottage, vacationing in Florida, downhill skiing, and attending her children's & grandchildren's events. She also enjoyed tending her garden and playing Bridge, and she never turned down a shopping trip. For 25 years, she volunteered her time delivering Mobile Meals with her special friend, Joyce Collette. She is survived by her husband James, children John (Cindy) Manders, Bill (Janean) Manders, Joe (Vicki) Manders, Ann (Craig) Suring, and Bob (Cheryl) Manders. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a sister, Rita Van Laanen, as well as sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mary (Don) Schleis, Kaye (Larry) Van Alstine, Jeanne (Tom) Chopin, Jodi (Gene) Gibbons, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Norbert (Lola) Linsmier, Harold (Geneva) Linsmier and Helen (Joseph) Lenss. Friends may call after 4:00PM Sunday, May 13th, 2018 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME at 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere. A parish prayer service will be led by Fr. Benny Jacob O.Praem at 7:00PM. Visitation will continue at 8:30AM on Monday at OUR LADY OF LOURDES CATHOLIC CHURCH at 1307 Lourdes Ave, De Pere. A Mass of Christian Burial will start at 10:00AM officiated by Fr. Jim and his family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Allouez Parkside Village for the care they gave Doris during her stay and the special treatment they extended to Jim when he visited her every day. Also, thank you to Heartland Hospice for all of their care and compassion.
