Dorothy J. Martin, 90, of the Town of Rockland, entered eternal life late Saturday evening August 23, 2014 surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Haldor and Mollie (Hock) Erickson was born November 25, 1923 in the Town of Hobart. She married Frank W. Martin on April 8, 1947 in Green Bay. Dorothy and Frank farmed in the Town of Rockland for over 65 years. He preceded her in death on December 17, 2000. Dorothy worked hand in hand with Frank on the dairy farm, but the children always came first. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren continued to keep her on her toes. Dorothy's doors were always open- ready to visit with a smile on her face. Her legacy will live on in the lives of her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her 13 children, Paul (Joy) Martin, Michael (Barbara) Martin, Darlene (Joe) Simoens, Patrick (Sue) Martin, Dorothy (Bruce) Wolf, Donna ( John) Herber, Frank (Barb) Martin, Denis (Nancy) Martin, Ron Martin, Debra (Tim) Danen, Diane (Joe) Lawler, John (Julie) Martin, and Doris (Curt) Dieleman. Thirty grandchildren, Ryan, Peter, Dinah, Jason, Sean, Robert, Daniel, Molly, Doreen, Craig, Eric, Aaron, Adam, Alex, Andy, Jennifer, Scott, Nicole, Francis, Bryan, Shannon, Melissa, Matthew, Will, Madi, Trevor, Dylan, Haley, Joe and Marty, twenty great-grandchildren with twins on the way. Her sisters: Mildred Johnson, Clara (Lee) Pansier, brother: Jacob Erickson, sister-in-laws: Barb Erickson, Carol Erickson, nieces and nephews and her family pets, Kitty and Butkus. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank, brothers/sister-in-laws - Harold (Arlyn) Erickson, Donald Erickson, Robert (Shirley) Erickson, Haldor (Jane) Erickson, Bill Johnson, sister:/brother-in law: Elsie (George) Siemianowski,, Lynn Erickson - Frank's Family, Mary(Lloyd) Kriescher, Inez Martin, Margaret Donovan, Jack Martin, Jim (Beatrice) Martin.
