Dorothy (Dottie) Mae (Martell) Van Den Heuvel, 92, De Pere, passed away Friday morning, June 5, 2026, at home peacefully. The daughter of the late Fred and Elvira (Fors) Martell was born on November 19, 1933.

Dorothy resided most of her life in De Pere. She graduated from Nicolet High School. She worked in the offices at Nicolet Paper Mill. After working at the Mill, she then traveled with friends and resided in Milwaukee where she worked at Milwaukee Natural Gas Co. After a few years she decided to come back to De Pere to help her mother and started working at Milprint offices.

Dorothy married Richard Van Den Heuvel on May 7, 1955. He proceeded her in death on April 29, 2008. When he died, part of her died too. She said she was fortunate to find the right partner in life and was thankful to have had so many good and happy years together. Now she is so happy to be reunited with him.

She traveled to many countries with Richard and her sister Dory. Turkey and Greece, along with the Mediterranean Islands, were her favorite places. Dorothy also loved traveling to Las Vegas with Richard and had many good times at Ceaser's Palace. She also enjoyed going to the YWCA everyday with Dory for their deepwater aerobics class. She loved playing cards and cribbage any chance she got. Mom was a loving and generous person. We will truly love and miss her.

She is survived by her Children, Scott (Patty) Van Den Heuvel, Rick (Lisa) Van Den Heuvel, Lynne (Dan) French, Sue (Mike) Pfeiffer and Chuck Van Den Heuvel. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kayley (Jared) Goffard, Kimm (Dan) Weber, Tori (Joe) Brian, Tom (Kendra) French, Cole Pfeiffer, Jake (Torry) Pfeiffer, as well as great-grandchildren Cohley French (Carson Vanboxtel), Vivian and Harrison Weber, Sadie, Kade, and Jett Pfeiffer. She is further survived by her brother Mike (Carol) Martell, her in-laws Larry Heyrman, Bob Mommaerts, Jerry (Lynette) Van Den Heuvel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
