Earl Joseph Thyssen, age 86, of De Pere, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, November 13, 2021, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center in De Pere.
Earl was born March 30, 1935, the son of the late Joseph and Minnie (Albers) Thyssen. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Spc.4.
He was married to the former Donna Janssen.
Earl worked as a machinist at U.S. Paper, Nicolet Paper, and Richco Structures until his retirement. In his free time, Earl enjoyed woodworking, taking care of his cats, watching the Green Bay Packers, traveling, spending summers in Lakewood, WI, and time with his family.
Earl is survived by his wife, Donna, children; Debbie (Dr. Stephen) Arbes, Green Bay; Laurie (Dan) Morinelli, Ashwaubenon. Grandchildren; Lynsie (Carl), Michelle, Shawn, Crystal, James, Cassandra (Josh), Kara (Jake), Alexis, Karinne, Jason, and Nicole. Great Grandchildren; Jase, Brayden, Brody, Harper, Olivia, Bentley, Jayce, Evelyn, Callaway, Milah, Ashlyn, Trevor, Caleb, Mason, Jameson, Elijah and Lincoln. Earl is further survived by his siblings; Jean (Bob) Francis, Joanne (Ken) Verhoven, and Janice (Jim) Jordan, in-laws; Nancy Leiterman, Pat Vickman, Bob (Sue) Janssen, Jack (Mary) Janssen, and Carol Thyssen.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his brothers and their spouses Hank (Juanita) Thyssen, Butch (Donna) Thyssen, and Ralph Thyssen. Mother-and-father-in-law Norbert and Alice Janssen, two brothers-in-law Robert Vickman; David Leiterman, and sister-in-law Barbara Janssen.
A special thank you to Jim and Nan Thyssen, Randy Thyssen, Dan Thyssen, and Justin Maulick who were always there to lend a helping hand, he appreciated you all. The family would like to further thank Rennes and Ryan Funeral Home for such compassion and care they took for Dad.
Family and friends may visit at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1305 Lourdes Ave, De Pere, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021. The Father James Baraniak O.Praem. will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.
