Edgar (Ed) J. Byrnes, resident of De Pere, passes away on January 7, 2021. He was born on May 4, 1950 to Delores Monica and James Byrnes in Virginia. He attended Gibraltar High in Fish Creek, WI, and attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Ed married Margarett Kuehn on August 28, 1976 at the Baileys Harbor Yacht Club in Baileys Harbor, WI. His wife was his one true love. Ed was a property manager for 25 years and was also employed by Peterson Shipbuilders in Sturgeon Bay. Ed was an avid Packers fan and he enjoyed photography. When he was a child, Ed was a voracious reader and loved the Door County Book Mobile. His dogs were also his passion and he was a proud supporter of the Wildlife Sanctuary in Keensburg, Colorado. Ed loved old cars and enjoyed watching televised car auctions. Ed is survived by his wife, Margarett, and his cousins, Darla Tong, Diane Whitcomb, Phil Appel, and others. He is preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law, and numerous other cousins and relatives. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dan and Wendy Haas.
