Edith Valorie (Val) Rohe finished her journey in this life on March 26th 2012, in Garfield, AR. She was born on August 29, 1937 in El Dorado, Tift, GA to Ivey Doster and Lee Ola (Googe) Hesters. She spent most of her young life in Jasper, Hamilton, FL, the place she called home and now lives in eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
On October 5th, 1952, she married Airman Kenneth Donald Rohe they would have celebrated their 60th anniversary this year. She was a proud Air Force wife and mother of three lovely children. They were stationed in several states throughout the USA. As a homemaker, she gave her family a beautiful home in spite of living in multiple locations. She did this through hard work, determination, and creativity. She sewed home dcor, clothing for her children, and fashionable Barbie outfits for her daughters. She also worked outside the home doing laundry and ironing for other military families. Family was the most important thing in her life, and she made every effort to provide the best for her family.
When their children were young, they spent most weekends enjoying camping, boating, and fishing. Holidays were treasured because of her extraordinary cooking and strong love of family. She enjoyed bowling leagues and playing cards with family and friends.
They moved to Green Bay in 1973. She owned and operated Val's Spur on Main Street for over 15 years. Despite only a 9th grade education, she became a successful business woman because of her integrity, strong work ethic, southern sweetness, gift of gab, and sincerity. Val's Spur became a little "family", because she treated employees and customers like "family".
She was a bright light that shined to all who knew her. She was a loving and self-sacrificing wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, family, friends and all who knew her.
She left behind her husband, Ken Rohe, Garfield, AR; a son Donald, Garfield, AR.; two daughters, Janet Rohe, Garfield, AR and Debbie (Randy) Alberts, Sturgeon Bay, WI; six grandchildren, Rebecca Roberson, Sturgeon Bay, WI, Jerad Rohe, Green Bay, WI, Cory Felten, FL, Jeffery Felten, FL, Justin Rohe, Suring, WI and Savannah Alberts.
