Edith "Edie" (Kust) Wierzba, 91, De Pere, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. She was born June 27, 1929 to the late Wenzel and Mary (Mleziva) Kust.
On September 29, 1951 she married Anthony Wierzba at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Klondike. After raising their four children in Ashwaubenon, they retired to Sun Lakes, AZ. Edie enjoyed golfing, doing community service work, entertaining family and friends, and zipping around on her golf cart. She will always be remembered for her love of reading and as a Milwaukee Brewers and UWGB Women's basketball fan.
Edie is survived by her children, Jim (Jane) Wierzba, Patti (Joe) Bohacek, Denise Golden (Craig Jerabek), and Nancy (Steve) Jakups; nine grandchildren Jim, John (Marie), William (fiancé Jackie), Kristin (Chris), Rachel (Nick), Michelle, Amber, Heather (Wayne), and Jason (fiancé Erika); and four great grandchildren Alyssa, Haley, Lawton, Evelyn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tony in 1999 and her granddaughter Treve (Jakups) King in 2009.
Friends and family may visit after 2:00 PM Friday, April 30, 2021 at St. Norbert College Parish at Old St. Joseph Catholic Church, 100 Grant Street, De Pere. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 PM with Fr. James Baraniak, O.Praem. officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
