IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward
Fowles
May 13, 1949 – April 28, 2023
Edward L. Fowles, 73, Green Bay, Wisconsin was born to eternal life on April 28, 2023. He passed away at home surrounded by his family and with his wife at his side following a brief illness. The son of Edward C. and Audrey Fowles, Ed was born in Green Bay and attended West High School, graduating in 1967. After four years at Gardner Denver Machine Company, Ed joined Machine Service, Inc., a true family business started by his parents in 1948. He proudly worked with his brother, William (Bill) Fowles, sister Jayne Anderson, brother-in-law Michael Anderson, sister-in-law Linda Fowles and nephews Michael Anderson, Jr., Christopher Fowles and David Fowles. It gave him great satisfaction to see the third generation become involved in running the company and continuing the legacy started by his parents. Ed continued to be involved in the day-to-day operation of the company.
On February 3, 2004, Edward married the love of his life, Jacalyn, and they recently celebrated 29 years together. They enjoyed traveling together, and with Ed being a history buff, visited presidential libraries, Washington D.C. and other historical sites, New York City, Hawaii, London, Paris, Austria and Germany. They discovered Sun City, Oro Valley, near Tucson, Arizona and spent winters there enjoying many outdoor activities and in 2015 learned the game of pickleball, which they played often. Ed faithfully walked two miles a day rain or shine. He was a blood donor who donated multiple gallons of blood over the years and spent time volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul. If something needed to be fixed, after some study it was done. You could always depend on Ed to make things happen. He truly enjoyed lunchtimes playing Sheepshead with his co-workers and had many good friends among his employees. He never met a piece of chocolate he didn't like. Ed was a kind and generous man, always ready to meet you with a shake of his hand and a cheerful, "Hi, I'm Ed." He embraced the tenets of his Christian faith in his daily life.
He was so thankful to have experienced the marriages of his children and the birth of six grandchildren. Spending time with his grandchildren or speaking to them on the phone was very special. Ed was an extremely loving father who always had time to comfort, protect or otherwise look out for his children and stepchildren. His advice was legendary. In addition to his wife, Jacalyn Fowles, Ed is survived by his children Sandra (Bryan) Monzon, Michelle (Felipe) Fowles Ceva, Samuel (Christa) Fowles, stepchildren Jamie Velkoverh and Eric Velkoverh, and his much-adored grandchildren Simone Ceva, Clark Ceva, Quinn Monzon, Zoey Monzon, River Fowles and Star Fowles.
Additional survivors include his sister and brother-in-law Jayne and Michael Anderson, sister-in-law Linda Fowles, nephews Christopher (Katie) Fowles, David Fowles, Aaron (Kristy) Anderson, Michael Anderson, Jr., and their families. Roxanne Sadowitz, the mother of his children. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill Fowles, and in-laws, Harold and Mary Haupert.
