In loving memory of Edward Gerbers
October 2, 1925 – August 28, 2023
Edward was married to the late Pearl (Frisque). He is the youngest and the last of 10 children of August and Elizabeth Gerbers.
Ed worked at Drop Forge and later Nicolet Paper. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family and friends. We all have heard some sort of stories from his hunting and fishing years. After retirement he helped the church with funeral services at OLOL.
Ed spent his last few years at Sage Meadow – everyone there called him papa. He loved having visitors and is known to recite the poem Roses are red and Violets are blue, Sugar is sweet and so are you. On good days he would rephrase the words such as sugar is sweet and I love you or other rhyming phrases.
A special thank you to all the staff of St. Croix Hospice and Sage meadow in helping through this trying time.
Edward is survived by sons Gary (Cindy), Rick (Joan), Randy – Daughters Linda, Cathy (Dennis), Theresa (Gary), Mary (Gary), daughter-in-law Sherry, son-in-law Pete, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl, sons Steve and Dan, and daughter Vicky. His Brothers and sisters and in laws.
