Obituary

Edward Kocken 94, De Pere, passed away late Tuesday evening October 11, 2011. He was born July 2, 1917 in De Pere to the late Theodore and Anna Kocken. He married Margaret Lenss on March 4, 1943. They celebrated 61 years and he was a proud father of 12 children. Edward was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, De Pere. Over the years Edward enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, his cottage in Dykesville, traveling, fishing, card playing, and wood working. He was the owner of Ed Kocken and Sons Excavating and Trucking. He is survived by five daughters and six sons, Don (Marie) Kocken, De Pere, Jim (Kathy) Kocken, De Pere, Herb (Barb) Kocken, De Pere, Pat (Roger) Vande Hey, Greenleaf, Bob (Sue) Kocken, De Pere, Gerry Kocken (special friend Mary Herlache), De Pere, Mary Sue (Dennis) Dantoin, De Pere, Lois (Roy) Vieau, De Pere, Judy (Mike) Castelic, De Pere, Bonnie (Steve) Linssen, De Pere, and Tom (Tina) Kocken, Appleton. Ed is further survived by 33 grandchildren, Brenda Steiner, Lee Kocken, Michelle Kocken, Dan Kocken, Marty Kocken, Lori Vanden Elzen, Angel Kempen, Ron Kocken, Tammy Kocken, Keith Kocken, Melanie Sickenger, Nick Vande Hey, Matt Vande Hey, Jill Bailey, Joe Kocken, Amy Seidl, Laura Waterman, Jenny Geurts, Katie Fiedler, Wylie Dantoin, Luke Dantoin, Tera Mattke, Jesse Vieau, Jerid Vieau, Ben Castelic, Kimberly Castelic, Aaron Linssen, Bret Linssen, Michael Linssen, Alex Kocken, Spencer Kocken, and Sam Kocken. He is further survived by 47 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, as well as a brother in law Orville Vande Hey. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, his daughter Betsi, one granddaughter Emily Linssen , his parents, Theodore and Anna Kocken, 4 sisters, Marie (Ed) Hutjens, Regina (Sylverster) Barrett, Josephine (John) Barrett, Rita (Burt) Wertel, 2 brothers, Chris (Virginia) Kocken, and Lawrence (Irene) Kocken. Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street De Pere from 3 til 8pm Friday October 14, 2011. Visitation will continue after 8:30am Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive in De Pere, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am with Fr. James Baraniak O.Praem officiating. Burial to take place at 2pm Saturday in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the family.
