Obituary

Edward "Ed" Van Den Heuvel, 75, passed away at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. He was born January 6, 1949, in Green Bay to the late Henry and Eloise (Smet) Van Den Heuvel.

Ed graduated from West De Pere High School in 1967. He proudly served in the United States Army for two years from 1968 to 1970. Ed worked in the paper mill industry for over forty years starting in 1967 and retiring from Georgia Pacific in 2008. Ed married Lois Bain on February 22, 1969, at St. Agnes Church, Green Bay.

Ed loved spending time with his family. He also loved the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers. He enjoyed demolition derby's, softball, stock car racing, deer hunting, and most of all watching his grandchildren in any sports they were in.

Ed is survived by his first and only love of fifty-five years, Lois. Two daughters, Kelly (Phil) Frontuto, and Keri (Steve) Jeffers. Six grandchildren, Brianna, Gabe, Alec, Esther, Brock, and Lauren. He is also survived by one brother Bob (Jane) Van Den Heuvel, and five sisters, Linda (Cy) Daul, Mary (Curt) Pautz, Bonnie (Jim) Delaurelle, Debbie (Randy) Vogels, and Jean (Jeff) Jorgensen. Brother-in-law Jerry Bain, and sister-in-law Nancy Bain (Butch), foster sisters-in-law Sunny (Louis) Archambault, Leslie Tagge, foster brother-in-law Jerry (Betty) Tagge, step mother-in-law Inagail Bain, half sisters-in-law Taina, and Arlouine Bain, and half brothers-in-law Terry and Wenzel Bain, his godson Dennis (Jamie) Van Den Heuvel, his special cousin Delores Van Gheem, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Eloise Van Den Heuvel, his brother Dick Van Den Heuvel, sister-in-law Kar Van Den Heuvel, and his cousin and best friend Dave Van Den Heuvel. Further preceding him was his mother-in-law Margaret (Terrien) Bain, father-in-law Alvin Bain, foster parents-in-law Bill and Lois Tagge, brother-in-law Marvin Bain, foster brother-in-law Bill Tagge, half brother-in-law Linden Bain, nephew Mike Mason, and niece Heather Fuller.

Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N Tenth Street, De Pere from 5:00PM – 7:00PM Sunday, August 18, 2024. Visitation will continue Monday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Green Bay from 9:00AM – 10:45AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating.

Ed's family would like to thank Dr. Greer, his surgical team, RN Erin, and the rest of the I.C.U. staff for all their care.

I love you… and you know I always did.
