Eldred J. "Al" Symons, 76, Green Bay, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a short battle with cancer on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. He was born on November 23, 1944 to Mildred (Hand) and Reginald Symons in Hancock, MI. Al moved to De Pere, WI in 1955 and later graduated from West De Pere High School in 1963. He was retired, but formerly a Custodian for Oneida Casino for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, telling jokes to whoever would listen, watching Brewer baseball and Packer football, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Al is survived by his daughters, Shelby (Stan) Trauner and Kristal (Scott) Kiley, and grandchildren Katie (Avery) Christensen, Cassie Kiley, Dakota Trauner and Domonic Trauner. He is preceded in death by his brother William (Bill) Symons, mother Mildred Symons, and father Reginald Symons. Friends may visit at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 991 Pilgrim Way, Green Bay, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 5th. Strict COVID-19 protocol will be followed, including physical distancing and required masks. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Andy King presiding. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in De Pere. The family would like to send a special thank you to the nurses and staff at St. Vincent Hospital 6th floor ICU. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established and donated to the Wisconsin Humane Society in Al's name.
