Eleanor Betsy John, 71, Oneida, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. The daughter of the late Freeman Parkhurst and Rena (Comey) Denny was born on March 13, 1944 in Milwaukee. On December 29, 1962 she was united in marriage to Ronald "Ronnie" John at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2004. Betsy enjoyed watching The Packers, The Waltons, and The Golden Girls. She also enjoyed all kinds of crafting, attending sporting events, golfing, playing bingo and slots, as well as spending time at the park reading. Betsy was a very giving and welcoming person, who always had a smile on her face. Betsy is survived by her children, Bridget "Bird" John, Fran (Melinda) John, Shane (Lisa) John; grandchildren, Sara (Andy) Koltz, Brittany Smith, Derek (Melissa) Denny, Evan John, Billie John, Ronni Lynn (Jonathon Tubby) John; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Lida Metoxen and Yvonne (Ronald) Metoxen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons, Patrick and Shawn; three brothers, and three sisters. Friends and family are encouraged to gather Holy Apostles Episcopal Church, 2937 Freedom Rd., Oneida, on Saturday, September 19 beginning at 9:00am.
