Eleanora K. Smith 51, of Oneida passed away peacefully March 29, 2014 at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born February 18, 1963 to the late Clayton and Arletta Cornelius. Eleanora was a graduate of Seymour High School, and then went on to further her education by obtaining an Associate, Bachelors, and Masters Degrees. She had worked for the Oneida Tribe for 31 years in the Division of Land Management. Eleanora was a true "Caretaker of the earth". She enjoyed Beading, fishing, cooking, sewing, painting, but above all spending time with her family is what Eleanora cherished the most. On May 31, 2003 she married Wesley Smith at the Oneida United Methodist Church, and they have enjoyed 10 happy years of marriage together.
Eleanora is survived by her husband Wesley, sisters; Christine Stevens, Debra Cornelius, and Sandra Stevens. Her Uncle Walter Cornelius, God sons, Jesse, Tyler, and Thomas, and Nieces and nephews also survive. Further surviving are her step children; Tabitha (Yegua) Nunez, Wesley E. (Tammy) Smith Jr., Clint Smith as well as numerous step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Allen, Clayton Jr., and Russell, her sister Roxana Skenandore, nephew Archie Stevens Jr. "Chopper", and her favorite dog Cocoa.
Friends may call at the Oneida United Methodist Church after 9am Thursday April 3, 2014 until time of service at 11am with Pastor Candace Ascher officiating.
