Elizabeth "Betty" (Fisher) Janssen passed away peacefully in Allouez, WI. on May 8, 2025, the day after her 93rd birthday.
Born in Algoma, WI, Betty was the first of 11 children.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Leo "Babe" Janssen and her mother and father Harry and Emily (Cihlar) Fisher. She was also predeceased by brothers Edward, Norbert, Robert, and Harry, and her sister MaryAnn Bracker, brothers-in-law Richard Bracker, William Cota, and David Thorpe. She is survived by sisters Donna Cota and Judith Thorpe; brothers Ralph, Stanley, and Thomas; sisters-in-law Dorothy, Judy, Joann, Donna, and Sue, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Betty was an avid bowler. She belonged to the 600 Club and was inducted into the Green Bay Women's Bowling Hall of Fame in 1995. She served as secretary to many bowling leagues and was a life member of the Bowling Board of Directors. She loved to work at the local bowling tournaments.
Betty was the unofficial yarn winder for the knitters of the "Knit or Knot" group in the apartment house where she was manager. Betty was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and watched all the televised games she was able to.
Family and friends may visit at St Willebrord Catholic Church 209 S. Adams Street, Green Bay, on Saturday, May 31st from 10:30AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM with Fr. Andy Cribben O.Praem. officiating. Betty will be buried next to her husband at Mount Olivet Cemetery in De Pere, on Monday, June 2nd. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.
Those wishing to express sympathy are encouraged to consider a donation to St John's Homeless Shelter or Paul's Pantry in lieu of flowers.
