Elizabeth "Ernie" Jones, 87, of Green Bay, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 at a local hospital. The daughter of the late Karl and Grace (Riggs) Clendening was born October 25, 1922 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ernie worked at Bertrand's Sporting Goods for many years and owned her own apartment complex. She loved life to the fullest and enjoyed gardening, bingo, photography, animals, especially birds and fishing. Her life-long passion was bowling and she belonged to two leagues. Her family includes her four children, Kristin Jones of California, Kerry and Randy McClain of Tennessee, Jeff and Cheryl Jones and Kevin and Tammy Jones. She is also survived by her grandchildren and their families: Cory Jones and his daughter Madeline; Melanie and Tony and their daughters, Mariah and Aubree; Dana and Chad and their children, Emily and Jacob; Nathan and April and their children, Hailey, Aleigha, Paiton, and Myrandah; Christopher and Lisa and their son, Connor. Ernie is also survived by her special friend, Bob Wenner and two brothers, Paul Clendening and Dorritt (Mary Jane) Clendening. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Karl. Ernie was a wonderful woman who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will continue after 10:00 am Wednesday at First United Church of Christ, 509 So. Webster Street, Green Bay, until time of service.
