Elizabeth "Betty"(Ver Haagh) Linzmeier, 94, passed away August 21, 2023. She was born on January 8, 1929, the daughter of the late George and Angeline (Guns) Ver Haagh. She graduated from St. Boniface School in De Pere in 1942. After that, she then helped her parents on the farm until she started work at Fort Howard Paper where she worked for 5 years.
On September 13, 1952, Betty married Robert Linzmeier at St. Mary's Church, Glenmore, which she was a member of all her life. After they were married, she and Bob farmed the family farm, with all the family until retirement in 1990. They sold the farm and bought a cottage on Lake Noquebay where family and friends enjoyed fishing and cruising the lake on the pontoon, especially the kids and grandkids. They had many good times, playing cards and telling stories.
Bob and Betty belonged to the Ledgeview Snowmobile Club and did lots of sledding in those days without trails. Betty worked with the Alter Society for 50 years, where all the family belongs.
Betty always had a big garden, especially strawberries and tomatoes. She always had enough for all the neighbors. She enjoyed baking and cooking and always canned and froze food for her family. Betty had many recipes that she shared with her family as well. She and Bob went on numerous bus trips, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Mexico, California, New York, Niagara Falls, and Yellowstone.
She also enjoyed refurnishing furniture for the family. Her best hobbies were playing cards, going for lunch, taking care of her flowers, and helping her family when she could. Her family was her pride and joy.
