IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth Jane
Miskella
August 21, 1916 – August 22, 2025
"Elizabeth Jane Miskella peacefully passed away on August 22, 2025, at the age of 109. She was born in DePere, Wisconsin on August 21, 1916, to the late John H. Jacobs and Helena (Janssen) Jacobs. She remained in DePere and in 1941, Elizabeth married the love of her life, the late Paul E. Miskella, embarking on a partnership that would flourish for over 53 years. Elizabeth and Paul settled in DePere, where for over 60 years she lived on the banks of the Fox River, enjoying the beauty, serenity and activities on the water while they raised their eight children. During that time, Elizabeth truly loved gardening and spent much time tending to her flowers and plants. Also, she stayed closely connected to her siblings and the large extended family who remained in the Wisconsin area.
Elizabeth was very proud of her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren—who brought her immeasurable joy! She was a devout Roman Catholic and Sunday masses were never missed. Her children were educated in the Catholic school system - St. Boniface, Abbot Pennings / St. Joseph Academy and St. Norbert College. Sundays were also extra special as she planned many fun family picnics
Liz always welcomed you with a smile and made friends with ease. We had a long stretch with mom, filled with countless memories of laughter and telling stories and wish they could go on forever. Though that's not possible, her legacy for all of us is priceless and will live forever. Elizabeth's extraordinarily positive, graceful and always upbeat attitude is ours to emulate.
Elizabeth is survived by her children: Dr. Michael (Rosaleen) Miskella, Mary (Michael) Quinn, Paul Patrick (Berne) Miskella, Thomas Miskella, Jane (Rick) Clayburgh, John (Denise) Miskella and Lisa (Bill) Luterbach. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband Paul Miskella, her eldest daughter Dr. Ann McCabe, son-in-law Brian McCabe and grandson Mark Clayburgh along with her siblings: Henry (Gladys) Jacobs, Norbert Jacobs, Aelred (Margaret) Jacobs, Helen (Urban) Brennan, Florence Hartman and Margaret (Bill) Fitzpatrick.
Funeral services will be held on September 20, 2025, with visitation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 413 St. John Street, Green Bay. from 9:00 -11:00 am, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, with Fr. Ryan Krueger officiating.
