Elmer P. Kerkhoff, 91, De Pere, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday April 6, 2017. He was born June 8, 1925 to the late Peter and Dorothy (Liebergen) Kerkhoff. On May 23, 1946, he was united in marriage to Rita McCabe at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown. He retired from Ft. Howard Paper after 37 years of service to the mill. Elmer was a humble man who would rather be on his tractor in his yard or plowing snow than be in the spotlight. He enjoyed time spent with family, and was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, De Pere. He is survived by his children; Larry (Lynn) Kerkhoff, Appleton, and Linda (David) Jonet, Lakewood. Elmer is further survived by three grandchildren; Jennifer (Brian), David (Michelle), Katie (Peter), and seven great grandchildren, two sisters; Marie Simpson, Rose Van Rossum, as well Rita's family, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Rita and two brothers. Friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Dr., De Pere on Wednesday April 12, 2017 after 9:00AM.
