Elva Ida (Labs) Zeamer, 96, Green Bay, died Thursday, June 8, 2017 at home. The daughter of Richard and Albertina (Bratz) Labs was born August 30, 1920 in Wrightstown.
In grade school, Elva was needed at home to take care of her ill mother and help on the farm. It was the beginning of a lifelong passion for caring for others.
On May 3, 1941, Elva married Herbert Zeamer at St. John Lutheran Church in De Pere. They celebrated 62 years of marriage together before Herbert's passing in 2003.
Elva and Herbert raised two boys together in De Pere. They were a true couple, and everything they did they did together.
Outside of her home, Elva volunteered at the De Pere Christian Outreach and with the Ladies' Guild at Hope Lutheran Church. She was also served as a lunch lady for many years at Irwin School.
She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, baking and spending time with family. She was everyone's "cool auntie" and cherished the role.
Elva is survived by her two sons, Terry and Michael Zeamer, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, parents, Richard and Albertina, siblings and siblings-in-law, and other members of her extended family.
Family and friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Hope Lutheran Church, 700 S. Superior Street, from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
