Elvia Iris Castellanos-Zavala, 55, passed away on November 11, 2025 surrounded by her family in Florida. She was born on December 13, 1969 to the late Francisco Castellanos Flores and Aurora Zavala Hernandez in Danli, Honduras. Elvia went to school in Honduras, and then went to school to be an RN in America. She worked for Humana and One at Home in Florida.
She loved to be around her sisters Adela and Ilsa, nieces and nephews, and her children as well as spending time with her puppy, Roxie. She was a very active member of her church as well. She loved her job as a nurse and loved helping others. She cared greatly for her patients. She always taught her children to be brave and strong for life.
Elvia is survived by her children, Dulce Montenegro and Angelo Munguia, her siblings, Adela (Marco Araiza) Castellanos and Ilsa (Eurico Merlo) Castellanos, as well as her nieces and nephews, George Michael, John Antony, Naji Antony, Mirian Ivon, Stephany Lizeth, Rafael Eurico, Ilsa Siney.
She was preceded by Osman Ernesto Montenegro, as well as her parents Francisco and Aurora.
Family and friends may come for visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N Tenth Street, De Pere WI. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Allouez Catholic Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
The family would like to thank Monica Valerio and her church for their care of Elvia, her coworker Mercedes Panayotti, and the rest of her staff, as well as family and friends who have supported her during this time. They would also like to thank the nurse that was with Elvia when she took her last breath.
