Erma Belle Morgan (Guenthner) died on August, 29, 2012. She was born December 28, 1915 in Antigo, WI to the late Erma Jane (Hurlbert) and Lawrence Guenthner. Her husband for over 70 years, B. Dale Morgan, died almost a year ago. She missed him greatly and now they can be together again. Erma was a lovely and proper lady. She liked to dress nicely and her jewelry and shoes had to match her outfit until the very end.
She went to Antigo High School and graduated in 1933. After graduation she worked as a waitress and also cooked for logging crews with her mother. She was never idle. Her husband grew a large garden and she was the harvester, picking strawberries, raspberries, and potatoes endlessly. All was not work. On the fun side Erma threw many a bowling ball, was involved in Homemaker's Club, and completed many craft projects.
She was a wonderful cook and the family cannot remember a time when there was not a home cooked meal on the table, no matter how early or late. She would read cookbooks like others read novels.
Erma was a long time member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in De Pere. She helped prepare and serve many church dinners and cooked many doughnuts for the yearly sale.
She leaves behind, to cherish her memories, a daughter, Gloria (Burton) Richards, Flat Rock, NC; two sons, Dale J. (Gerri) Morgan, Luxemburg, Roger (Pam) Morgan, Green Bay; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
