Ethelyn (Jonet) McClure, 87, De Pere, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, October 27, 2018. The daughter of Elmer and Pearl (Bournoville) Jonet was born on April 25, 1931. Ethelyn was the oldest of four children, growing up on a farm near Luxemburg. She had five children with James Barrette, and raised them while working in the business office at the West Side Clinic. Upon retirement, she was an avid volunteer at St. Vincent Hospital. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and made each of them feel so special. She is survived by her sons, Russell Barrette, Texas and William Barrette, Kimberly, as well as daughter-in-law Karen Barrette, De Pere, step-children Joe McClure, Thomas McClure, Bill (Christine) McClure and Carol Twomey (Joe Hronek), her grandchildren Sierra, Ryan, Jesse, Brittany, Jamie, Elizabeth, Aaron and Jillian, and step-grandchildren, Amanda, Kenzie, Jerome, Sarah, Madison and Jessa. She is further survived by 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Joan (Larry) Engelbert, Indiana, and sister-in-law Bev Jonet, New Franken. Ethelyn was preceded in death by her children, Michelle Stemler, Sandy Batal and Mark Barrette; granddaughter, Nicole Smith, California; siblings Eugenia "Gina" (Ervin) Bins, Green Bay and Mark Jonet, New Franken. Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018 until a noon prayer service. The family would like to thank the staff on the ninth floor at St. Vincent Hospital for their compassion and care, the St. Vincent Dialysis Center and the Green Bay Metro Paratransit for getting her to her appointments. Additionally, special thanks to the family of Norman McClure for their love over the years. In lieu of flowers, a donation will be made in Ethelyn's name.
