Eugene Paul "Gene" Williquette, 64, Oneida, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
Gene was one of nineteen children, born in 1953 to Howard and Jeanette Williquette. In 1957, he was cared for by Lambert and Cecilia Heezen, and became a member of the Wild Turkey Townies. He married Jean, McKenzie and Marshall Cohen in 1984, and in 1985 they added Chapin James to the family, who sadly passed away in 2007.
Gene will always be known for his love for his Golden Retrievers; Chica, Sheba, Nugget, and later his cat Meow. He also loved the outdoors and nature, spending every day walking the trails in Oneida, where he began his journey as the cat whisperer. But mostly he is best known for his immense love for the music of The Beatles! His children and grandchildren grew up listening to it daily, especially Sunday Brunch with The Beatles.
Grandpa will be forever remembered by Riley, Regan, and M. Reis Moseng, Brennan Pauls, Nasya (Rhaney), Moshe and Hadassah (Haddie) Cohen.
A special thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff at Unity Hospice and his friends Jerry and Dave for making the time and travels to visit Geno weekly even when he said NO.
~Until we meet again.
