On September 28, 2022, Eva "Kay" Cathleen Riggs passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior at the age of 96.

Kay was born to Hubert and Bessie Whiffin in Bonavista, Newfoundland, Canada. On February 12, 1946, she married Eldon Riggs with whom she raised three daughters; Shirran, Ruth Ann, and Elizabeth.

Kay was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking/baking, loved to knit, and made hand sewn quilts for her daughters and grandchildren. She frequently attended gospel performances, concerts, plays, and did not need a special reason to go out to eat for lunch or dinner. Kay treasured her travels with friends and family. She also adored her cat, Pepper.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents Hubert and Bessie, husband Eldon, a grandson, and her sisters. She is survived by her daughters Shirran (Richard) Rabenhorst, Ruth Ann (Ken) Voelz, and Elizabeth (Eino) Ahlgren; four grandchildren and their spouses and eight great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at Ryan Funeral Home on Sunday, October 9, 2022. Visitation will be from 11:00 am-12:45 pm with a service to follow at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations are appreciated in which the family will support organizations Kay held dear to her heart including Oneida UMC, Memorial United Church (Bonavista), and Carrington Assisted Living.
