Ferne Ruth (nee Deering) (Rosenbaum) Gutheridge, 96, of Green Bay passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2014. She was born January 27, 1918 in Seymour, WI, a daughter of the late William Deering and Anna (Kropp) Deering. She enjoyed married life first with her husband Marvin H. Rosenbaum, who died February 13, 1984 and then with Dellavan P Gutheridge, who died December 3, 2000. Ferne and Del enjoyed pleasant golden years together. Ferne was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Green Bay. She was a teacher at Conrad school and Klipstine School. Ferne ran the North Branch Library in Green Bay, from where she retired. Ferne is survived by her nephew Scot and Sue Deering; niece Nancy and Paul Vander Kelen; great niece Tricia Garrison and her daughter Cassi; great nephews Scottie Deering and Christopher Deering. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law Shirley Deering, Lois Deering, and Verna Becker; and other family and friends. Ferne was preceded in death by her parents; sister Beatrice Cairns, brother Robert Deering, and sister-in-law Ruth Zirbel. Family and friends may visit from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at RYAN FUENRAL HOME & CREMATORY, 305 N. Tenth St, De Pere,. Funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Julie Wrubbell-Lange officiating. Burial will be in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour.
