Obituary

Floyd Elzear Klister, Age 89, formerly of Wrightstown, passed away on April 21, 2025 just 2 days shy of his 90th birthday with his family by his side for his heavenly journey to heaven to meet Mom who we know was waiting with open arms. He was born April 23, 1935 to the late Elzear and Matilda (Van Eperen) Klister.

He served in the Army in Korea from 1955-1957.

On August 22, 1957 he married the love of his life, Virginia (Jeanne) Lamers. She preceded him in death on November 24, 1991.

Floyd worked at Thilmany Paper for 39 years as Superintendent of Converting, until his retirement in 1993. While at Thilmany, he served on the Thilmany Management Club, serving all positions including President. He was a member of the Thilmany Quarter Century Club.

After his retirement, Floyd worked at Fox Valley Auto Auction for 20 years. Floyd enjoyed playing cards, shooting trap, hunting, woodworking and painting.

He was very active and loved living in Wrightstown. He served on the Village Board as Police Commissioner for 10 years, served on the Fire Dept. for 12 years and Urban Klister Legion Post 436 Drill Team and Firing Squad. He always wanted to move back to Wrightstown where he was born, raised and built a home and raised his family.

Floyd was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church for 65 years serving on the Parish Council Governing Board, including Council President. Floyd was also a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Green Bay and Christ the King, Mesa AZ. Floyd and Jeanne had four children and are very proud of the wonderful people they have become, Todd (Jackie) Klister, Jeff Klister, Paula (Ken) Boylan and Mark (Joan) Klister.

In addition to his children, Floyd is survived by his grandchildren: Dr. Ashley Boylan (Eric) Verbeten, Eric (Jennie) Boylan, Andy (Crystal) Boylan, Jesse Klister, Chris Klister, Casey Klister, Ethan (Chelsea) Klister and Austin (Gerilyn) Klister. Step- Dana (Matthew) Tollefsen and Hilary (Ben) Nance;  great grandchildren: Zachary, Ezekiel, Zaine and Zariah Verbeten, Thea, Willa and Kenna Boylan, Gracelyn, Emmett and Claire Boylan, Kynlee Klister and Carson and Madilyn Klister. Step- William, Henry & Nola Tollefsen and Maran Nance.

Floyd is further survived by his brother Paul (Betty) Klister, brother-in-law Gary Ebert; Godchildren: Kim Miller, Jim Kraft, Paul Klister, Dan Ebert and Sharon Parker and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his loving wife Jeanne, his parents and parents-in-law Barney and Genevieve (Heitpas) Lamers and Mary Klister, along with his brother, Msgr. Roy Klister, sister Myrna Ebert , brothers and sisters in law, Mary (Nick) Kraft and Vernie (Ron) Miller.

A huge thank you to the residents and staff at Renaissance Assisted Living in De Pere and the Unity Jack and Engrid Meng Residence. We will forever be thankful for you!

Dad was such a kind, compassionate and social man. To know him was to LOVE him! We are so happy you and Mom are finally back together.

Friends may call at St. Clare Parish (St. Paul Site), 437 Main St., Wrightstown, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Brian Wideman officiating. Burial and full Military Honors will follow in the St. Paul Parish Cemetery, Wrightstown.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established for Floyd.
