Obituary

Floyd Resper, the 11th child of sixteen children was born to the late John and Marie Resper on May 5, 1939 in Wallace, NC. He departed this life on May 15, 2015 peacefully sleeping, To God be The Glory. He fought a good fight, he endured a lot and never once would you hear him complain. He was always, upbeat and encouraging his favorite saying "None of Us is Getting out Alive" make the best of each day. All is well!! After completing his education in the public school system, he soon married Thelma Metters, they had two daughters from that union, years later they moved to Washington, DC to be with family. Mr. Resper worked various jobs to take care of his family, during his leisure time he loved watching his favorite Washington Teams win games. He was the life of any party, he always had a funny joke to share, and he would bring a smile to anyone's face. He was a family oriented man, loved being with his family. He was full of wisdom and knowledgeable of the bible. He later had another daughter in 1977 he loved and cherished his children, and grandchildren. On July 7, 1982 he married his current wife Sheila Resper, they became members of the Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he became a Deacon he loved serving God's people. He lived a good life while living in the DC area amongst family; they moved out to the cold Midwest 15 years ago. He was at peace he enjoyed his life. We will miss him along with his sense of humor. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 33 years. Mrs. Shelia Resper, 3 daughters, Jacqueline R. Chase (Donnell), Denise Thomas, Veronica Resper, 2 step children Henry Clemins (Jennifer) and Terry Crowdy. 8 grandchildren, Darren Finch, Kevin Resper, James Resper, Tiffany M. Resper, Antonio D. Resper, Angel F. Resper , Darius L. Thomas, and Delante' M.J. Resper proceeded him in death. 7 great-grandchildren, Brieauna A.J. Johnson, Dominique Jones, Sierra Finch, Kamaree D. Resper, Humayrah Resper, James Resper Jr., Aadiyah Resper, 1 brother Augustus Resper (Lois) of Greensboro, NC. 2 sisters, Christine Williams of Willow Grove, PA. Betty Resper of Wallace, NC. 12 brothers and sisters proceeded him in death. Elizabeth Aldermen, Walter Resper, Addie Morris, John Resper, Joseph Resper, George Resper, James Resper, Carey Resper, Molly Resper, Annie Smith, Paul Resper, and Mary Resper. Host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. We will forever miss him. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 1018 Cedar St, De Pere.
