Floyd Basil Skochinski, 89, of Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013. He was born on January 24, 1924 in Minneapolis, MN to the late Joseph and Bernice (Wujcik) Skochinski. Floyd served his country during WWII in the US Army Air Force in England where he loaded bombs onto B-17s. He also played Semi-pro football in Minneapolis as a Tight End. While in Minneapolis, he worked for Soo Line Railroad repairing steam and diesel locomotives. On November 19, 1955 Floyd married the former Ann Moran of Green Bay in Sun Valley, CA. In California, he worked in the aviation industry as a machinist repairing jet engines. Floyd was also a member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, NAMI, where he taught F2F with his wife. Floyd enjoyed woodworking, camping, football, but most of all loved his family. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 58 years, Ann; his five children, Pam (Randy) Ament, Phil (Karen) Skochinski, Paul (Andrea) Skochinski, Ed (Pam) Skochinski, David Skochinski; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Frances Bobbitt, Josie Camomile, Teresa Lehman and a brother, Dominic Skochinski. Friends and family are asked to gather at Nativity of our Lord Parish, 2270 South Oneida Street, Green Bay, on Monday, February 18, 2013, from 9am until 11am when a memorial mass will be held with the Rev.
