Obituary

Francine (Fran) Christensen (Olmsted), 79, passed away on August 3rd, 2026, with her family at her side. She was born on February 25, 1947, to Robert & Joyce (Ronsman) Olmsted in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She attended West De Pere High School and NWTC earning a degree as a Medical Assistant. She spent many years working at numerous medical facilities. In 1998, she changed careers and began working as a receptionist and human resource assistant at Fox Converting. She retired in 2010. She lived her life for her family, her children, her siblings, and especially her grandkids.

Her survivors include her children, Kim and Roger Haslitt, Kelly (Amy Miller) Christensen, and Krina Christensen. Grandchildren and great grandchildren include Adrian (Autumn), Everett and Kolson Haslitt, Morgan Haslitt, Kody (Heather Souchik) Christensen, Austin and Angel Christensen, and Derrion Thornton, along with some fur babies, Moosie, Baby, and Willow. Further survivors are her devoted seester Sandy Sullivan, brother Bob Olmsted, brother and sister-in-law Tom and Sue Olmsted, and brother Jim Olmsted. She is also survived by nephews, Mikal and his children Electra, Romona and Patti Sullivan, Shaun and his daughter Falling Star Sullivan, Corey and his children Taylor, Bailey and Ron Olmsted. She also leaves behind many special cousins and two Aunts, Virginia and Rosalind.

Other survivors include her many beloved girlfriends…Sara, Rose, Jean, Jacquie, Diane, Nancy, Sandy, Marge, and Sonya. They spent many meal times discussing their families and solving all the world’s problems, plus deciding, should they or should they not, have dessert. She will be sadly missed by her lifelong “bestie”, Deb Wimer. Deb and Fran spent over 50 years burning up the phone lines sharing all of life’s confidences. They shared many laughs and tears together and were truly “besties” in every sense of the word. Deb’s significant other, Bill will now have to take her place.

Proceeding her in death are her father Robert Olmsted, whom she learned how to live life through adversity; and her sweet, gentle mother Joyce Olmsted, from whom she learned to be kind and accepting. She is further preceded in death by many Aunts and Uncles, as well as JoAnn Sullivan and Kayla Sullivan. Also preceding her, good friends, Al Wimer and Geneva Cieslewicz.

Visitation will be held at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N Tenth Street, De Pere, on Sunday, August 9th from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm with time of service at 4:00 pm with Fr. James Baraniak O. Praem. officiating. Private burial will be held the following morning at Mount Calvary.

A very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Davita Riverside and all the caring staff at Bellin Health.

Fran would write this little message in sympathy cards that she sent out in hopes that it would give those grieving some peace.

“He saw that you were crying, so He held your hand, and He wept with you”. We hope this message brings you comfort as well.
