Francis "Frank" Bernard Cook, 87, passed away on November 2, 2023, at Aurora Hospital.

He was born May 20, 1936, in Akron, Ohio to the late Francis and Irene (Kippes) Cook.

Frank was raised in Copley, Ohio, and graduated from Copley High School, class of 1954. He then went on to graduate from John Carroll University with a BS in NS in 1958, and a MS in 1960 from The Ohio State University, and 1967 with a PH. D in Organic Chemistry. Frank was a member of the Phi Lamba Upsilon.

On December 30, 1961, he married Marilyn Haas at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Cleveland Ohio.

Frank worked for Union Carbide Corporation as a research chemist. He did post-doctoral research at the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory in Utica, NY on the properties of blood and was a chemistry professor at SUNY in Morrisville, NY., where he was the chairman of the Chemistry Department for many years.

Frank was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed turkey hunting. In addition to hunting and fishing, he excelled at gardening and woodworking. He loved sports and in high school was an all-county football athlete, and all state basketball athlete.

Frank is survived by his wife Marilyn, their children; Mark (Cathee) Cook, Brian (Lisa) Cook, and Jonathan (Kimberly) Cook. Ten grandchildren; Ashley Cook, Corrine Cook, Naomi (Sasha) Cook, Allison Cook, Alaina Cook, Carter Cook, Joshua B. Cook, Andrew Cook, Colin Cook, and Joshua T. Cook. He is further survived by his brothers Albert (Laura) Cook and John (Martina) Cook.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, and his brother Allen Cook.

Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, De Pere on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 9:00AM, until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM with Fr. James Neilson O.Praem. officiating.
