Frank Aniol, 82, Ledgeview, formerly of Dyer, IN and Chicago, IL passed away peacefully Saturday evening, September 25, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Born March 9, 1928 in Chicago, he attended Bowen High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon retiring from military service, he worked as an electrician at American Maize in Whiting, IN until he opened Aniol's Hardware in Chicago with his best friends and brothers Joseph and Stanley.
In 1956 he married Patricia Plys and together they raised two sons, Jim and Dave. Patricia preceded him in death on June 25, 1986. After 11 years as a bachelor, Frank began a relationship with his special friend Angie Gifford with whom he lived until Angie's passing in 2008 when he moved to Wisconsin.
Frank was a kind and caring person who took care of many of his ill relatives, putting their needs ahead of his. Frank enjoyed working with tools utilizing the skills he learned from his parents, and assisting his sons on many home renovation projects.
He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his children and spouses, Jim and Christy Aniol, De Pere and Dave and Paula Aniol, Park Ridge, IL, five grandchildren Jessica, Joseph, Jaclyn, Doug, and Elizabeth. The life skills and persistence that he taught his sons and grandchildren will live on and be passed on to future generations.
Visitation, with urn present, will be held after the funeral service on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at New Hope United Methodist Church, 1950 Dickinson Rd, De Pere. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, September 28 at New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Jewison officiating.
