Frieda Grace (Bernetzke) Paape, 80, De Pere, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015. She was born on May 3, 1934 in Appleton, daughter of the late William Bernetzke and Ida Toth. Frieda married Robert E. Paape on March 3, 1951 at St. John Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1998.
She managed Toth Nursing Home for many years. She participated in state bowling tournaments, loved to crochet, was an excellent cook, and loved to spend time with family.
Survivors include her children, Rebecca Paape, Howard (Vicki) Paape, Deborah (Gerard) Meunier, Annette Paape, and William (Christina) Paape. Grandchildren include Chrisy (Eric) Karchinski, David Paape, Robert Matthews; great grandchildren: Jacob, Tori, and Griffin Karchinski, Bryce and Alyssa Paape. Sibblings include Alice (Vernon) Heuvelmans, Lois (Earl) Pruit-Fluhr, William Bernetzke, Betty (James) Peot, Linda (Don) Harvey and many other friends and relatives.
Frieda Paape is preceded in death by her husband Robert Paape, son William R. Paape, sister Barbara Paape, as well as relatives Marcella Paape, James Paape, Robert Heuvelmans, Vernon Heuvelmans, Floyd Paape, and Jan Bernetzke.
Visitation will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 1700 Lost Dauphin Road, De Pere from 9 am - 1 pm on Sat. Jan. 10. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm, luncheon to follow.
