Gary Lee Jonet, 76, of De Pere, passed away at home early Tuesday, October 17, 2023 due to cancer. He was born to parents John and Loretta (Heim) Jonet on April 9, 1947 and grew up in Sugarbush.

Gary graduated from Luxemburg High School in 1965 and married his high school sweetheart Deanna Johnson on November 25, 1965. He served in the United States Army Reserve for seven years, which is where he learned to cook.

Gary greatly enjoyed trap shooting and was an active member of the Brown County Sportsmen's Club and the De Pere Sportsmen's Club. He was known for his great contributions as a cook for club events. Always on the go and willing to help, Gary knew how to have fun.

He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, daughter, family and friends and spent many winter months in Florida and Texas. One of the areas he enjoyed the most was their second home in The Villages, Florida, where he loved his golf cart. Other destinations included Mexico, Greece, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, and Hawaii.

Gary spent most of his career in the transportation repair and service industry. Together he and Deanna founded Ridgeway Trailer Services, and owned and managed rental properties; Gary was able to fix or build just about anything.

He is survived by his wife Deanna and daughter Sherry Jonet and her finance James Peeters. Gary is further survived by siblings Larry (Cindy) Jonet and Daniel (Lisa) Jonet plus his sisters- and brother-in-law Marilyn (Ken) Secor, Mary Ellen (Fred) Wilson, Melinda Johnson, Kurt (Kerri) Johnson, and Beth Johnson plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his father John Jonet and mother Loretta Jonet plus in-laws Vivian and Harvey Johnson.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 14 at the Stadium View Banquet Hall from 5:00PM - 7:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be made to The American Heart Association, The American Diabetes Association, The American Cancer Society, the Brown County Sportsman's Club and the De Pere Sportsmen's Club.
