Gary L. Laabs, 60, of Bellevue, passed away Wednesday afternoon September 22, 2010 following a courageous battle with diabetes. The son of the late Melvin and Loretta (Keyser) Laabs was born November 17, 1949 in De Pere. Gary was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. On March 17, 1973 he married the former Pam Vanden Heuvel at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Gary was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He was a great husband, dad and grandfather, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Pam, three children, Gary (Cherie) Laabs, Shawn (Jeff) Shroble, Paula (Barry) Dalebroux, his grandchildren "Papa's Six-Pack", Cody, Hannah, Calvin, Alex, Conner and Emily; three brothers, Ronald (Jeanette), Bill (Donna) and Lenny (Dori), two sisters, Bonnie (Greg) Cribb, Sue (Bill) Daanen, special sister-in-law, Carol Laabs and Cliff, as well as many special nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Laabs, and Loretta and Norbert Vergets, one brother "Hoppy" Laabs and several special nieces and nephews.
