IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary
St. Aubin
May 12, 1953 – March 9, 2025
Gary John St Aubin, Ashwaubenon, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, March 9th, 2025 after fighting cancer with courage and determination for 6 years. Gary was born on May 12, 1953 to Emil and Sarah St Aubin (Loper) in Marquette, Michigan, just moments before his twin sister. He attended Premontre High School in Green Bay, WI, graduating in 1971. Gary married Cindy Parins September 27, 1975. Together in marriage just shy of 50 years, they built a beautiful life together.
Growing up in Green Bay, Gary helped his mother who was an entrepreneur in the restaurant industry. It was natural that hospitality became his life-long career. He managed the Satellite Supper Club within the Austin Straubel Airport for many years. In 1982, Gary and Cindy opened Gary & Cindy's Restaurant and Lounge on Broadway, which they operated together for 14 years. Thereafter, he continued to work as a bar manager at Sportsman's Supper Club until fully retiring in 2005. Throughout his career he forged many lasting friendships and had many colorful stories.
He found joy in arranging gambling trips to Las Vegas for customers who became great friends. He won several jackpots and even a new 1988 Pontiac Grand Am! Some of his favorite memories were traveling with family and friends to Cancun, Florida, New Orleans and Los Angeles to be in the audience of Dancing With The Stars and The Price Is Right.
Gary had a lot of love to give and held a special place for children. He and Cindy only had one living son, Eric, and lost their second son, Joey, shortly after he was born. Their desire to have a large family was fulfilled by providing foster care service. It was in retirement that he found his true passion; caring for his family's children. He babysat his nephew Nick and then opened Grandpa Daycare for his greatest joy; his grandchildren, Beau and Brielle. He was a masterful Grandpa, doting on their every need and desire.
In retirement, Gary became a meticulous gardener. His neatly ornamented yard, beautiful flowers and bountiful fruits and veggies were often the envy of the neighborhood. His apples made their house a popular stop for children each Halloween. Gary also loved Cadillacs, tinkering with gadgets and having the newest technology.
Gary never left one wondering what he was thinking. Despite being to the point, he had a huge heart and was always generous with his time and his compassionate care for others. He especially loved teasing the ones he loved with his quick wit. His sense of humor never waivered even as he faced his final moments. Finally, Gary's faith in God was strong, rarely missing Saturday Mass even through his illness.
Gary left an impression on all who he met, especially his family. He is survived by the love of his life, Cindy; cherished son, Eric (Karyn); grandchildren, Beau and Brielle, Green Bay. He is further survived by his siblings: Lonnie (Marion) St Aubin, Negaunee, MI; Wally (Sue) St Aubin, Green Bay; twin sister, Gayle (Mark) Skaletski, Green Bay; sister-in-law, Linda St Aubin, Marquette, MI; brother-in-law, Kevin (Kathi) Parins, Land O' Lakes; sister-in-law, Sue Parins, San Tan Valley, Arizona; and many special nieces, nephews, god children and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Sarah St Aubin; parents-in-law, Betty and Peter Parins and Papa Tom (Nancy) Paschen; son, Joey John St Aubin; siblings, Tom (Roberta) St Aubin, Lorraine LaJoie, Russell St Aubin, Emil St Aubin, Jr., Chuck (Mary) St Aubin; brother-in law, Brad Parins; nephew, Nick Parins.
Gary's family knows everyone knew a different version of Gary. Whatever version you knew, husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, friend, neighbor, Arby, Big G, or Grandpa Gadget, know that you are loved and appreciated. Thank you for sharing and celebrating his journey with us. The family would like to thank the entire team from Green Bay Oncology for the great care they provided, especially his receptionist friends JoAnn and Debbie. In addition, the amazing caregivers, Rahbihah and Karen, from Unity Hospice who provided comfort and peace are true angels on earth. Thank you.
