Geneva M. Cieslewicz, 89, De Pere, joined her husband Leonard in Heaven on their 65th anniversary, July 14, 2021. She was born May 1, 1932, to the late Paul and Clara (Boehler) Konrath. Geneva attended St. Joseph Grade School and St. Joseph Academy, graduating in 1950. She married Leonard Cieslewicz on July 14, 1956. He preceded her in death May 20, 1995.
Her primary job was being a mother to her five sons.
She taught CCD for the children at St. Joseph's and taught special needs children at St. Mary's many years. Geneva started a recreational program for people with special needs funded by the Knights of Columbus. She did this for over 40 years. Besides her love for her family, her greatest love was for those with special needs. Geneva received many awards for her work with special needs. She was so proud of being named a Silver Knight by St. Norbert College. Geneva enjoyed crocheting, and many benefited from her creations.
She is survived by her sons; David (Lori), Joseph (Becky), Gary, Scott (Karen), Dan (Judy), as well as her grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica), Jeremy, Maxwell, and Samuel. Geneva is also survived by her sister Mary Van Dyck, and sisters-in-law, Marianne Konrath, and Elaine Konrath. Leonard's family; Mary Ann Cieslewicz, Cyril Cieslewicz, Henry (Mary) Cieslewicz, Margaret (James) Sigmund, Gertrude (Russell) Lotto, and Susan (Francis) Olejniczak.
Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, her siblings; Eleanor Konrath, Alvin Konrath, Sister Bernard Clare, Marvin Konrath, and brother-in-law Leland Van Dyck. She is further preceded in death by Leonard's family; Alex (Helen) Cieslewicz, Chester (Betty) Cieslewicz, Jerome (Joan) Cieslewicz, Joseph Cieslewicz, Joan Cieslewicz, and Sylvester (Esther) Cieslewicz.
Friends may call after 8:30AM Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, De Pere, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM with Fr. Peter Ambting O.Praem. officiating. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.
