IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Genevieve "Genny"
Gollnick
May 9, 1950 – June 6, 2025
Genevieve Kah^tiyo (Good Earth)(Webster) Gollnick, 75, died peacefully surrounded by family on June 6, 2025. She was born on May 9, 1950, to Levi Parker and Servilla Dell (Skenandore) Webster in Green Bay, WI. Genny graduated from West High school and started her college career at UWM before returning to complete her undergraduate study at UWGB. She loved to learn, and she wanted to know as much as she could about her language and culture. She became involved with the Oneida Language Program in its infancy. Genny traveled to New York and Canada for many years to attend ceremonies and learn about her culture and heritage. She attended Harvard University where she earned a master's degree in teaching, Curriculum and Learning Environments. Genny's greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was proud to have never lost touch with her inner child and her ability to connect with children. Her passion drove her to a career in education, working in the roles of teacher, curriculum director and administrator of on^yo?tea.ka tsi? tsi? thuwatilihunyaniht, the Oneida Tribal School. While she was a teacher, she was invited to study at the Newberry Library in Chicago where she researched Haudenosaunee genealogy and history. Genny enjoyed Math, Science, Social Studies and Geography. She became involved with AISES (American Indian Science Engineering Society), which led her to participating in numerous science events across Indian Country. She also served on the Oneida Personnel Commission hearing cases and writing decisions for a number of years after leaving the education field.
Genny had deep faith and spent her life as a prayer warrior, praying for family, friends and the world, if she learned of a need she went to prayer. She spent a great deal of her life trying to find the right path for her and those she loved to get to Heaven. She believed she found that in the Catholic Faith. She made many pilgrimages around the U.S. and to Medjugorje.
Genny was a living room cheerleader for the Green Bay Packers. She loved shouting "Go Pack Go" and dressing appropriately for game day. She enjoyed getting in the crowd around Lambeau on game days, too. She loved being in nature and being near the water. Pamperin Park and Door County were dear to her heart because of childhood memories of visiting those places with her parents, whom she lost at a very young age. She loved all things fall and Halloween (but not the blood and gore), and The Peanuts cartoons.
Genny is survived by three sisters Charlotte Walschinski, Mary Prescott, and Catherine Webster, sister-in-law Jackie Webster, and one Brother Kenneth Webster. Her three children Cassondra (Cory) Trepanier, Kowa Gollnick, James (Marie) Gollnick, her grandchildren Nix (Matt), Parker, George and Elton, her great grandchildren Hunter, Isaac, Xavier and Athena. She is further survived by a zillion nieces and nephews.
Genny was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Thomas, Cletus, Lavern, Adam, Gerald and Vincent, Sisters Connie Delgado, Alice Smith, Teyulelu Cornelius along with too many nieces and nephews.
