George Joseph
Ambrosius Jr.
January 1, 1931 – January 9, 2025
George Ambrosius, Jr, 94, Hobart, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, January 9, 2025. He was born January 1, 1931, to the late George and Mathilda (Minten) Ambrosius Sr.
On August 8, 1953, he was united in marriage to Doris Mae Huben at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Howard.
Born and raised on a farm, farming was in George's blood as a lifelong career and passion. If you couldn't find him at the farm, he was most likely up north fishing, which was a close second to farming.
George's pride and joy was his children and grandchildren. He liked nothing better than spending time with them, either fishing, grilling, or preparing his family's famous fish fry.
He is survived by his three sons, Dale(Cheryl) Ambrosius, Tom(Debbie) Ambrosius, and Jack(Lori) Ambrosius. Two daughters,
Barb(Tom) Spang, and Lois(Randy) Burt. Grandchildren, Christina(Andy), Melinda(Miguel), Samantha(Adam), Robert, Kyle(special friend Brittany), and Megan. Great Grandchildren, Corbin, Clara, Madelyn, Piper, Carter, and Henry. George's siblings, Idabell Bildings, Elizabeth Van Hoof, Florence Lancelle, Bernard Ambrosius, as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris Mae, and son Paul. In addition, his siblings and spouses, Hattie(John) Van Wychen, Ted(Betty) Ambrosius, John Bildings, Norb Van Hoof, and Bill Lancelle. Doris Mae's family, Florence(Harold) Rentmeester, Marion(Clayton) Van Enkevort, Robert Huben, and Patricia(Merle) Knaus.
Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 1305 Lourdes Ave., De Pere on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 8:00AM – 10:15AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM with Fr. James Baraniak O.Praem. officiating. Entombment will take place at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.
